Waste Water Treatment Processes
Industrial and domestic processes lead to various forms of waste including water, solids and gases. These wastes are absorbed into the environment and can be dangerous. However, taking these wastes through treatment process reduces harm made to the environment. Wastewater is a produced in typical all process including homes and industries. The wastewater treatment process is carried out in three phases.
Wastewater from homes is normally treated in septic systems. The septic system is simple and should always be functional. Septic systems serving a larger number of people are more complex since they have to absorb a higher volume of waste. The water treatment process ahs three main phases. Water flows through pipes either by pumping or gravitational force to large reservoirs. There is removal of floating and suspending solids in the reservoirs. The process involves use of centrifugal force. The stage removes about 60% of the suspended solids. Chemicals can be used at times to increase the removal of solids. The water is taken to the second stage of treatment known as the secondary stage of organic stage. At this level, the remaining biodegradable and suspending particles are provided as food to organisms such as fish. These organisms consume the biodegradable components in the water and remove the nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen present. This stage removes over 80% f the water impurities. The water that is released into the environment at this stage is not harmful.

taking it to the third stage. It is referred to as the tertiary stage and water can be used for a wide range of uses. There is application of different water treatment chemicals to make it safe. Chlorine is used to purify the water though it has been disputed in the recent times.
Water pumped into the wastewater treatment plant should not contain industrial chemicals. The company responsible for releasing water with industrial chemical should take responsibility by establishing a treatment plant at their base to remove the chemicals.
